The other titles I mention won't give you the overview that Beaudry states as her aim, but they will at least have lots of drawings, not only descriptions, so you can judge for yourself how much things change over time, and in what way.a stitch in timehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14851281042202696086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-238357237695791562.post-92140467027228533032009-10-16T23:58:14.918+02:002009-10-16T23:58:14.918+02:00I am with cathyr in thanking you for saving me the...I am with cathyr in thanking you for saving me the purchase price of this book. I had put this book on my "want list," believing it to be a general history of sewing tools. Since that is not only not true, but the author also make remarks that cast great doubt on her understanding of the history (especially the early history) of these objects, I've concluded that I'm better off without Ms. Beaudry's book.

As an aside--I am shocked that Ms. Beaudry seems to believe that any sane person would use earwax on sewing thread!Cathy Raymondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04580681386443534011noreply@blogger.com
